The University of Florida campus is one of the most bike-friendly in the Southeast. With over 50,000 students, cycling is often the fastest way to get around campus and Gainesville.

Bike Registration

UF requires all bikes on campus to be registered with the UPD (University Police Department). Registration is free and helps recover stolen bikes. Visit the UPD office or register online.

Best Campus Routes

The Lake Alice Trail provides a scenic shortcut through campus. Museum Road has bike lanes connecting east-west across campus. Stadium Road is a wide, low-traffic route perfect for cycling.

Bike Parking

Bike racks are available outside nearly every building. Use U-locks for security — cable locks are easily cut. Register your bike's serial number with the national Bike Index.

UF Cycling Team

The University of Florida Cycling Team welcomes student cyclists of all levels, from recreational riders to competitive racers. It's a great way to meet fellow cyclists and explore Gainesville's trails.
